Carbon Monoxide Alarms - New Legislation

Landlords, are you aware that the legislation has recently changed regarding Carbon Monoxide alarms?

The Housing Minister has announced that housing providers (Landlords) are required by law to install carbon monoxide alarms in private rented properties with fixed appliances such as gas boilers or fires. As part of the changes Landlords are also required by law to repair or replace smoke and carbon monoxide alarms once they are advised that they are faulty.

So.... Unless your Tenants advise you that they are not working how will you know that you are breaking the law?

Carrying out inspections is not only the best way to check that things are being looked after but that your tenants are safe and sound. At Love Property we carry out inspections every four months and submit a photographic report back to them on the condition of the property. We also check that the Landlords are covered under the HHSRS regulations.

We offer ad-hoc inspections for self managing Landlords and would be happy to inspect your property for you. Call Sal for more information on 01748 837343.
